Yanga Chief Opens Up About Losing Passion for Music After AKA's Passing

Award-winning rapper Yanga Chief reveals he took a break from music after losing his passion following the passing of fellow rapper AKA. In a recent interview, Chief shared: "I lost interest in music. It no longer excited me, and I doubted my ability to create the type of music I wanted."
Chief credits AKA for giving him his first commercial break with their collaborative hit "Run Jozi." "AKA was the first artist to release an official song with me. We created magic together, playing 'music tennis' – bouncing ideas off each other."

He expressed gratitude for AKA's support:
"Without him, I'm not sure I'd be making music today. It doesn't feel the same without him." After exploring filmmaking, Chief has returned to music with renewed energy.
