Lindokuhle Masebeni, a 21-year-old activist from iLinge Township, is making waves in her community with her tireless efforts to combat rape and women abuse. Growing up in Yonda Village in Whittlesea and attending Nkwanca High School, Lindokuhle was driven to create positive change from a young age.
On April 20, 2023, Lindokuhle founded the Umlando Wentombi Cultural Group, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cultural and educational programs for young girls in iLinge Township. The group's mission is to encourage young girls to stay pure and promote virginity, while also fostering their talents and confidence.
Last year, Umlando Wentombi Cultural Group successfully hosted its first annual event, Miss Umlando Wentombi Cultural 2023/2024, with the support of Spar Supermarket and Dr. Nkuthalo Ruka. The event aimed to showcase the talents of young girls and promote a positive message of empowerment.
This year, Lindokuhle and her team are excited to host the second annual Miss Umlando Wentombi Cultural 2024/2025 event on November 30, in partnership with TLR Foundation. The event promises to be an even bigger success, with a goal of continuing to inspire and uplift young girls in the community.
Lindokuhle's dedication and passion for creating positive change are an inspiration to us all. Her work with Umlando Wentombi Cultural Group is a testament to the impact one person can have when driven by a desire to make a difference. We look forward to seeing the continued success of this young activist and her organization.
